102 Technology-sector names (market cap ≥$500M) gapped 15%+ on a single trading day between April 1 and July 13, 2026 — 65 up, 37 down. This is a full sweep, grouped by industry, with the fundamentals attached to each move and the confirmed catalyst behind every large-cap gap.

The method

For every active Technology-sector stock with market cap ≥$500M, I compared each day's open against the prior close across the full April 1 – July 13 window and kept the single largest absolute gap per name, filtered to ≥15%. Six names were excluded for split-distorted price data (KLAC, CRWD, ALIT, VISN, MQ, VRRM all executed splits inside or adjacent to the window that corrupt an unadjusted day-over-day comparison). Everything below is real price action.

Two-thirds of the gaps were to the upside (65 up vs. 37 down) — this window was dominated by an AI-capex earnings season that rewarded beats violently and punished soft guidance just as violently, sector-wide. By industry: Software - Application (26 names) and Semiconductors (25 names) accounted for exactly half the list, followed by Software - Infrastructure (18) and Hardware, Equipment & Parts (10).

The AI memory/chip supercycle — the biggest and most confirmed theme

Micron (MU) +17.6%, 6/25 — Q3 FY26 revenue guided toward $35B (+279% analyst estimate framing) with EPS estimates calling for triple-digit growth; the company entered the print with its entire 2026 HBM capacity already sold out under binding contracts, and the stock was already at an all-time high (~$1,134) into the report with options pricing a 17% implied move. Money Morning, Investing.com

AMD (AMD) +15.3%, 5/6 — Q1 revenue $10.3B, non-GAAP EPS $1.37, Data Center revenue +57% YoY to $5.8B on EPYC and Instinct GPU ramp, Q2 guided to ~$11.2B; stock closed up 18.6% with more than 20 brokerages raising targets (Goldman to $450). CNBC

Intel (INTC) +23.1%, 4/24 — Q1 revenue $13.6B vs. $12.36B consensus, adjusted EPS $0.29 vs. $0.01 expected — its biggest single-day gain in nearly four decades. Foundry revenue hit $5.4B (+20% sequential) though external foundry revenue was still only $174M, leaving the AMD-competitive question open. TIKR

Sandisk (SNDK) +16.9%, 6/25 — the standout NAND name of the whole cycle: Gartner-projected 234% NAND pricing inflation for 2026, FY26 EPS estimated to have grown ~22x to $66.51. The stock later gave back 10% in a single session on 6/26 as the market re-litigated whether the pricing surge is structural or cyclical top — worth noting since our gap window caught the up-leg, not that reversal. TIKR

NXP Semiconductors (NXPI) +22.2%, 4/29 — adjusted EPS $3.05 vs. $2.95 est., revenue $3.18B (+12% YoY); CEO cited software-defined-vehicle processors, radar and electrification chips (now >45% of automotive revenue, up from 39%) driving ~90% of YoY segment growth — the auto-semi destocking cycle turning. CNBC

Seagate (STX) +15.4%, 4/29 and Corning (GLW) +16.8%, 5/6 rounded out the physical AI-buildout layer: Seagate posted EPS $4.10 vs. $3.45 est. on hyperscale nearline demand; Corning's Optical Communications sales grew 36% YoY and the company announced a long-term NVIDIA manufacturing partnership for AI optical connectivity the same week. Yahoo Finance, Corning IR

MaxLinear (MXL) +57.7%, 4/24 — infrastructure/optical-datacenter revenue confirmed +136% YoY with guidance raised to $160–170M for Q2, followed by Stifel/Needham upgrades.

AI systems and networking — Dell, HPE, Cisco, Fortinet

Dell (DELL) +31.8%, 5/29 — the single sharpest large-cap print of the window: adjusted EPS $4.86 vs. $2.96 consensus, revenue $43.8B vs. $35.77B, $24.4B in AI orders and AI server revenue +757% YoY to $16.1B, building a record $51.3B AI backlog. FY27 guidance points to $165–169B revenue. Stock's best day ever, +234% YTD at the time. CNBC

HPE (HPE) +34.2%, 6/2 — Q2 revenue/EPS +40%/+108% YoY, networking segment +148% (Juniper integration), AI orders and backlog nearly doubled YoY, FY26 Networks-for-AI order target raised to $1.7–1.9B. Motley Fool

Cisco (CSCO) +15.4%, 5/14 — EPS $1.06 vs. $1.04, revenue $15.84B vs. $15.56B, FY26 guidance raised to $62.8–63.0B; AI infrastructure orders raised to a $9B FY target from $5B, even as the company cut ~4,000 jobs to redirect spend toward AI. CNBC

Fortinet (FTNT) +17.0%, 5/7 — Q1 non-GAAP EPS $0.82 vs. $0.62 consensus, product revenue +40% YoY, billings +31%, FY26 guidance raised to $7.71–7.87B revenue / $3.10–3.16 EPS — AI infrastructure demand feeding directly into firewall/SASE billings. Seeking Alpha

Akamai (AKAM) +24.6%, 5/8 — beat on EPS/revenue, Cloud Infrastructure Services +40% YoY, plus a confirmed $1.8B/7-year commitment from a frontier AI model provider for Akamai's cloud infrastructure.

The other half: guidance-cut air pockets in beaten-down and high-multiple software

The defining pattern of this window is that an earnings beat was not protective — several names cratered despite clean prints because guidance, margins, or leadership changes overshadowed the headline number:

ServiceNow (NOW) -15.4%, 4/23 — subscription revenue +22% YoY, cRPO +21% and above guide, op margin beat — and the stock still had its worst day on record on Middle East revenue headwinds and margin pressure from the Armis acquisition. 24/7 Wall St.

Cloudflare (NET) -15.4%, 5/8 — beat on both lines (revenue $639.8M vs. $620.9M est., EPS $0.25 vs. $0.23), but Q2 guidance of $664–665M landed a rounding error below consensus, and a 20% workforce reduction (1,100+ roles) tied to an "agentic AI-first" restructuring spooked the market. CNBC

Zscaler (ZS) -25.7%, 5/27 — worst day ever despite revenue +25% YoY beat and EPS beat, because FCF margin guidance was slashed to 22.8–23.3% from 26.5–27% (accelerated hardware purchases ahead of rising costs) plus two sales-leadership departures. Yahoo Finance

HubSpot (HUBS) -23.7%, 5/8 — EPS and revenue both beat, FY26 guidance raised to a 2027 margin target hit a year early — and the stock still fell on fears about an April go-to-market reset. TIKR

Klaviyo (KVYO) -25.7%, 5/6 — record 28% revenue growth and highest-ever operating margin, wiped out by a surprise CFO departure and soft current-quarter guidance. Wix (WIX) -26.4%, 5/13 — a rare actual miss (EPS $0.75 vs. $1.21 est.) as operating margin collapsed to 5% from 21% on front-loaded AI compute spend for its Base44/Harmony products. Intuit (INTU) -18.7%, 5/21 — beat and raised guidance, but paired it with a 17% workforce cut and a trimmed TurboTax forecast, in a stock already down 40%+ YTD on AI-disruption fears. Accenture (ACN) -18.9%, 6/18 — its worst day on record: bookings -2% YoY (-13% sequentially) and a narrowed FY guide (3–4% from 3–5%) as AI reshapes consulting demand and Middle East clients paused spending. Bloomberg

Roblox (RBLX) -23.3%, 5/1 — cut FY26 bookings growth guidance to 8–12% from 22–26% as new age-verification and safety requirements slow user growth. ON Semiconductor (ON) -17.2%, 6/26 — a slight EPS/revenue guide miss compounded by market digestion of an all-stock Synaptics acquisition (dilution concerns), even as AI datacenter revenue was reported growing >30% QoQ. IPG Photonics (IPGP) -24.2%, 5/5 — beat on revenue but tariff-driven margin compression (gross margin -2pts, pushed to an operating loss) crushed a stock priced at 167x earnings.

AI-native software winners that held the beat-and-raise pattern

Not every high-growth name got punished — several posted clean beat/raise/rally sequences: Snowflake (SNOW) +35.2%, 5/28 (product revenue +34% YoY, a $6B AWS AI collaboration, Natoma acquisition for AI agent governance); Datadog (DDOG) +30.8%, 5/7 (revenue +32% to $1.006B, AI monitoring demand, EPS $0.60 vs. $0.42); Atlassian (TEAM) +20.9%, 5/1 (revenue +32% YoY, cloud +29%, data center blew past estimates — a reversal after the stock had been down 45%+ YTD); monday.com (MNDY) +18.7%, 5/11 (revenue +24% YoY, record operating income, AI Work Platform launch); DigitalOcean (DOCN) +19.7%, 5/5 (EPS $0.44 vs. $0.27 est., AI-pivot narrative, Morgan Stanley target raised $75→$175); NetApp (NTAP) +24.1%, 5/29 (EPS $2.43 vs. $2.27, FY27 guide well above Street on AI/cloud data services).

Bottom line

  1. This was an AI-capex earnings season, not a Technology rally. Half the gaps in the entire sector sit in just two industries — Semiconductors and Software-Application — and nearly every large-cap mover traces back to the same three-word thesis: AI infrastructure demand.
  2. A beat was not protection. ServiceNow, Cloudflare, Zscaler, HubSpot, Intuit, and Klaviyo all beat estimates and still gapped down double digits — margin guidance, headcount actions, and leadership changes did more damage than the headline miss would have. Read the guide, not the beat.
  3. The memory/NAND/HBM trio (MU, SNDK, and the broader storage chain — STX, NTAP) was the highest-conviction, best-sourced theme of the window — sold-out capacity and triple-digit pricing inflation are structural, not just sentiment.
  4. Rackspace (+75.3%) and Backblaze (+60.1%) were the two most extreme percentage moves on the list, both small/mid-cap infrastructure names catching a turnaround-narrative beat — worth flagging as the highest-volatility, lowest-liquidity tail of this dataset.
